We couldn’t be more proud of our recent Golden Arrow Awards at the Maine Public Relations Council holiday party. The event offered a delightful celebration at a cozy venue in Portland’s tree-lit Longfellow Square complete with some great beers on tap by up-and-coming Funky Bow Brewery of Lyman, Maine, and pork belly sliders, root vegetable
Our very own Creative Director & VP Rebecca Morse (Athlete #644) was one of over 1,400 participants in the 2014 Tri For a Cure. The event included a 1/3 mile swim, 16.5 mile bike course and 3.1 mile run. The triathlon was supported by 450 volunteers, and countless fans who cheered on participants throughout the race.
We love Coffee by Design. Now there’s one more reason to be fans of this great local institution. Content Director Kiki O’Connell had an unforgettable lavender latte this spring at Dynamite Coffee in Cape Girardeau, MO. Back in Portland, Coffee by Design was intrigued…got in touch with Dynamite on Facebook…and came up with a homegrown
Stew Vreeland, our founding partner emeritus, is all about Italy — and Iowa. But Connecticut? This spring Stew spent several weeks in Panicale, Italy, with friends Betty and Paul Turina (and a milione amici). He was home for a day or two, then off to Marshalltown, IA, to celebrate his father, the very dapper Don’s,
Jess Wallace ran through Maine winter training for the Sugarloaf 15k. And it paid off. She makes the mountainous run sound like it was all downhill. Her Facebook pix look like she didn’t break a sweat. The May 18 run is part of the Sugarloaf Marathon, Maine’s oldest continuously run marathon. Now Jess is gearing
Winter’s no problem for folks at Vreeland. Creative Partner and President Rich Davies powers through it. Rich uses a snowblower to build a small hill that children Cole, Summer and Gareth can sled on in the backyard. When they’re ready to go big, they head for the Yarmouth “Pit.” Catch Rich’s high-speed video and go
We celebrate a lot of birthdays here at the Vreeland office. So it’s important to keep it interesting. And at this point into this crazy Maine winter we could all use a little extra cheer. Two birthdays this week made for a little fun, some delicious treats and a visit from…a balloon bandit? Our Web Developer
We celebrated the holidays with a lunch that was big on cookies. Everyone brought some to share – everyone took a ton home. Lots of recipes changed hands. And so did one big, beautiful gift: a silkscreen collage of Vreeland logos, designed by Creative Director & VP Rebecca Morse, and presented to Midge and Stew.
Former Vreeland staffer and country music legend Kix Brooks loves being a Louisiana native. So much so that he’s now helping to promote the state through the official Louisiana Travel & Tourism Board. That shouldn’t be surprising to anyone, but what’s interesting about it is the connection that Vreeland had in making it happen. A
The 2013 Broderson Awards were held at the Port City Music Hall in Portland on November 7th. The ceremony, put on by the Ad Club of Maine, recognizes Maine agencies and professionals that are dedicated to excellence in their creative endeavors. Ad Club board member, Jeff Cobbett, played an integral role as the behind-the-scenes technology
