Mother’s Day & Father’s Day

Enjoy Mother’s and Father’s Day with a trip to the Museum. Moms and dads are treated to free admission, and kids can have fun making special crafts to celebrate the day.

FREE Picnic In The Yard

July 14 & 28, August 11 & 25, September 8 & 22: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Join Maine Maritime Museum to celebrate summer with picnics in the yard. Pack a picnic dinner and bring the family to enjoy an evening of crafts and activities along the Kennebec River.

Family Boat Building Week

July 22 - 24

In this unique opportunity, each participating family or group will work together over three days, under the supervision of Museum staff, to build their own flat-bottomed skiff, which they will launch and take home. Participants will build Susan Skiffs from kits. No prior building experience is necessary. Class is limited to 6 families or groups.

Pirates Party

October 29: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
$6/person in advance, $7/person day of event
$20/family in advance, $25/family day of event

Join us for our 10th annual Pirates Party at Maine Maritime Museum. Come in Halloween costume and take part in pirate games and a treasure hunt, hear pirate tales around the bonfire, visit the haunted shipyard, and much more!
