The Maine Public Relations Council has created a special award in memory of Vreeland Partner Emeritus Midge Vreeland. Midge was one of the first PR professionals in the state — and the first agency owner — to receive the Accredited in Public Relations designation.
The Midge Vreeland Public Service Award was inaugurated at the MPRC’s annual conference October 23 at the university of Southern Maine. The recipient was the Spannocchia Foundation, chosen because of Midge’s personal connection to the Tuscan agricultural estate and its mission of preserving cultural history and the environment for future generations. Midge’s husband, Stew, was on hand to help present the award with Susan Thompkins of Rising Tide PR, above left. Erin Cinelli, Executive Director of Spannocchia, accepted the award, at right.
Brava, Midge. And thank you to everyone who is keeping her life of service alive in Maine and her beloved Italy.
