Each year Skillins Greenhouses offers pre-season Spring Bonds, a local gardening tradition that allows customers to purchase bonds at a discounted rate before spring starts and use them to purchase merchandise anytime later that season. Spring Bonds are a great way for Mainers to start thinking about spring, despite the large amount of snow that may remain on the ground. And it’s a great way for Skillins to get a jump on spring sales!

This year, Vreeland selected a design that was as refreshing as spring itself! Using a color palette of bright greens, earthy oranges and sunny yellows, the bonds featured a contemporary swirling branch illustration. To complete the campaign, this design was echoed in print ads, on Skillins’ Web site and in a number of posters displayed in the retail stores.

In this case the early bird might not get a worm, but they do get valuable savings on anything they need for spring gardening!
